This wine is made in the Loire valley, the Vouvray appellation. Of course it is made on chenin blanc but not just any chenin blanc. These vines and wines have seen a lot of love from Peter Hahn, the owner and winemaker. Low yields, green cover crops, plowing with horses, classical music in the cellar, old champagne press, only a 70% press of the grapes so that you only get the good stuff, natural yeast, no chemicals and he only makes 1 wine – no need to share his love, besides his great loving family and the fields. The wines are truly vintage related. Some years they can have an almost dessert wine character and the next dry but the racy acidity, minerality and amazing complexity makes these wines truly unique!
